Big Scripts

Welcome to Power Poppy's Day 4 of the February release. Today we are showing Big Scripts!

They say go big or go home right? How about Big Scripts! I have for you a sweet baby card  today. This actually came together fairly quick as the frame was already die cut from another creation so I went with it. I do like to use the negatives from die cuts as frames and this was perfect for a baby card.

The matching Spellbinders Adorning Labels Twenty Five was perfect to frame the inside of the negative frame and stamp my congrats sentiment. Added a ribbon bow with a tiny button center and voila! An easy peasy baby card.

Hey... Short Stack

Welcome to Power Poppy's February release. We are on Day 3 of our release. Hope you are enjoying all the creations from the Bloom Brigade!  Today we have for you Short Stacks!

This has an easy breezy feel to it don't you think? What fun it is to color too. Here is the birdie with cups image in the set stamped on white card stock and colored with Copic markers. Simple design with some swiss dots textured background.

Added a Spellbinders A2 Bracket Borders One edge to the bottom and a few scraps of designer paper. Tied a ribbon and button bow combo for the corner. Added the sentiment tag from Short Stacks and voila!

How about some Good Thinking?

Welcome to Power Poppy's February release. We are on Day 2, head over to the PP blog if you missed the start! So sit back, relax and enjoy the creations from the Bloom Brigade!

This is a different Valentine for me as it has rugged edges. ooohhhaaahhh. hee hee I have not distressed edges on my cards in ages. The tool actually feel out of a drawer when I went looking for something else so I figured hey why not?!?  I distressed all the layers but the vellum Nested tags Die-Light or the Nested Hearts Die-Light. Stamped the True Love sentiment from Good Thinking: Love Notes on a tag and added a button and twine bow to the edge. Voila!

Orchids Rock

Welcome to Power Poppy's February release. We have some wonderful sets to show you over the next 5 days. Yes I said 5 days, which means 5 stamp sets! Woot Woot!! So sit back, relax and enjoy the creations from the Bloom Brigade!

My creation today is rather simple as I let the Orchids Rock and the dies do all the hard work for me.  :-) I stamped the Orchids on white card stock, colored with Copics and then delicately cut around each of the blooms and stems. Added dimensionals to the back so they would pop off the card.

The base of  my card is framed using Spellbinders Adorning Labels Twenty Five die cut in a rich purple card stock. The blue polka dotted matting is using Labels Twenty Five. Wrapped some lace trim and purple ribbon around the bottom and adhered to the card front. The You Got This sentiment tag, a few sequins and voila!

Paper Bag

Supplies:

Designer paper (12 x 12), scoring tool, adhesive or regular tape, ribbon and embellishments desired

Step 1:

Score paper at 3 inch from the top and fold over as shown. Turn and place the fold at the top. Score at 3 inches from the left and 3 inches from the right. Fold both edges to meet in the middle as shown on the right. You have two options here. You can choose to do as I have and use the regular tape and place it on the underside edge of the seam so that the tape is hidden from the outside. Or you can just tape all the way down the seam from the outside. Below you will see that I have a hidden seam, but just at the top you will see the outside where I added extra tape. You won't see that as it will turn into the bottom soon.

Step 2:

Once you have taped the seam score at 3 inches from the bottom. Note this is the end that is open

Step 3:

Open the end like shown (alligator mouth) just to the fold mark. Crease and fold down to create triangle on the right.

Step 4:

Pre-fold both ends towards the middle. Add adhesive to both triangles and adhere. On the left I have one already adhered, on the right is what they will look like when complete

Step 5:

Unfold and form paper bag shape. You will want to work the sides and the crease to make it as wide as you would like. You have lots of options for the closure from buttons, ribbons, velcro you decide. Decorate as desired

Step 6:

This is a sweet bag for one of the boys teachers. I used a retired stamp that is layered on ODBD Ornate Hearts Die. Added some sparkles and sequins. Enjoy!

Now for my creation today. Went for a masculine sorta Valentine today. Slate grey, white and red were the colors I thought that would work. I kept the embellishments to a minimum although I have to say my husband doesn't mind too much.  :-)  I wanted a few roses so I have one for the outside with a lattice window into the inside sentiment. I have a tutorial on how I created the Lattice Window if you want to create your own. Very easy and is a cool look.

This rose is called La Vie En Rose and is part of our new Instant Garden Digital release every month. Beautifully drawn by Marcy and so much fun to color. I have the added sentiment version on the inside for you below. I love how this turned out and I know that my husband will to. The frame is with Spellbinders Label Twenty five die. I can't find the lattice die on the site, so maybe its discontinued or I just need to look harder.  :)  Any lattice die would work. Easy Peasy today. Hope you can play along this week.

Dramatic Thank you

Good morning! Was in a dramatic mood with this one today. I love the black, red and white combo and had not created with that in a while so I went for it. I love the boldness of the red and black don't you?

This is Dynamic Duos Peonies and Tulips that is stamped on white card stock. I colored with Copics and red's are not always friendly to me. However this one they may have done the ticket for me, what do you think? I wanted the fun Tiny Hearts Pocket Page for the back panel and the black and white polka dots paper. I thought they went well together. Wrapped some red lace trim and black ribbon tied into a bow. Final touch the ever so addictive sequins and voila! Enjoy your day!

I adore you

Good morning! Hopefully you had a great weekend and are all refreshed and ready for the week. Today I am sharing a fun project that I made for one of the boys teachers. I have a feeling that I will end up making this for the others once they see this one. hee hee  This is a Paper Bag out of designer paper. I have a Paper Bag Tutorial if you want to see how I created this one and make your own.

The bear from Heart Hugs (retired) was gonna be perfect for the front of my gift bag. He is stamped on white card stock and colored with Copic markers. His panel is layered on an Ornate Hearts die in kraft card stock. Added my sentiment to the corner with some sequins and sparkles for fun. Voila! I adore how this turned out!  I think one in gingham designer paper would be my next choice. What do you think?   ;-)   Hope you have a wonderful day.

FS415 Roses are red

This weeks Featured Stamper 415 is cjzim aka Claudia. Wonderful gallery with lots of inspiration. I choose this Chocolate gift bag to case. I kept with the theme, colors, a gift bag. Changed the stamp, sentiment and embellishments. Congrats Claudia. Hope you all can play along this week.

I bought the die Sack It To You when it came out, I think last year early on? Well only handful of times have I actually used it and it is so easy to create. See how easy here in my Sack It Tutorial. They make the cutest little bags and super easy to put together. I will fill this one with some chocolates and a gift card for hubby.  ;-)   I printed out the new Digi from Power Poppy called La Vie En Rose for the front of my gift box. Matted a Spellbinders frame for the back panel added a few sequins and voila!

I added the sentiment from Dynamic Duos: Glads and Gerberas with a few jewel accents. Layered onto a kraft base and a lavendar Spellbinders die for the frame. Tied a ribbon bow and voila!

When all seems lost,

God says, "I have it." Is that not awesome! I like this sentiment from Be Encouraged! The whole set really is an encouraging set, hence the name. Pulled out the Old Tea Rose for this creation and stamped the bloom on white card stock. Colored with Copic markers and then created the Dry Embossed frame technique with a Spellbinders Decorative Labels Twenty Eight Die. Added some sequins and sparkles to the bloom. Voila! I do like the crisp and clean feel of this. Hope you do too. Have a wonderful day.
