Just because sunflower

Good morning. I have to say a week without more snow and freezing rain sure makes me happy.  :-)  Spent quite a bit of time in the stamp room this weekend trying to get some release stuff coming up done and a few surprises. hee hee  So be on the look out.

Grabbed the wonderful Heartfelt Creations Sunflower Bouquet to play with for this one. The sunflower is stamped off the corner so I could leave room for the sentiment. This is a retired sentiment that has all the little sentiments to go with the large font. Inside it says " I was thinking about you today".
The sentiment off the side looks fun I think. Colored my sunflowers with various Copic markers and added a designer paper layer behind the main image panel then to the base. Used stitched mat rectangles die for some fun. I really am liking the layers like this and have done quite a few lately if you hadn't noticed. ha!  Added the wonderful sequins and sparkle to finish it off. Voila!

Thank you Rose

Happy Friday!  There are so many things I see people doing with Digital images from layering, creating scenes, using part of the image, enlarging portions of the image etc. The list goes on and on if you really want to look for ideas. Since I am not real savy with digital images yet, I wanted to try more things with the ones I have. Today I am showing you what I altered using digi  Everything's Rosy

Now, I started out small with just a minor change. I enlarged it quite a bit and then used the "eraser tool" to remove part of the image to the right so I could get just this can of roses. Since I had created this I see several cards with similar enlarging of the same image. Come to find out.... Check this post out on the Power Poppy Blog post and read the details. We teamed up for the month of February with  Kit and Clowder online class. They have a special altering of two digi's and a class with techniques and ideas for you. Check it out!

Back to my editing of the digi... this left a portion of the can unfinished obviously since the part I erased over lapped. That is easy enough to cover with a sentiment tab of some sort.  Oh I LOVE it, don't you.  :-)  This really just makes the digi all the more fun to play with and try new things. After I colored the image with various Copic markers I die cut the panel with Lil inkers stitched rectangles. Added a layer of pink behind the panel and adhered to the base. My sentiment is using part of the stamp from Nice Things to Say. Then the sparkles and some added sequins. Voila! Hope you try more things with your digital images and play around today too.  hee hee

Birthday Sunflowers

Good morning! A little sunflower to brighten your day.  This stamp is called Sunflower Bouquet that I stamped on white cardstock. The sunflowers are softer coloring than I would normally do as I wanted a more springy feel to them.

Just a few simple die cuts using Lil Inkers Stitched rectangles for the designer paper and the image panel. Added my sentiment to the edge and top it off with yes... more sequins and stickles.  :-)  Birthday cards are starting to pile up now. Yea! Hope you have a fabulous day!

Lamp unto my feet

I mentioned a week or so ago that I was playing with some of my old  stamps. How fun to dust off an older set and recreate new cards and new ideas. Well I did that today using one of my first Our Daily Bread designs sets that is called Light of the World. It's perfect for a friend that needs a reminder to keep it up.

My lighthouse is colored with various Copic markers. A simple design with faux stitching around the designer paper edge. I really do like that look on cards, don't you? These fun metal circle accents are some hardware that I have had sitting here for ages. Perfect time to start using more of the old stuff. And it was a perfect fit for the card instead of my usual sequins. :-)  My squares are using the new Pierced Square die. Mixing old with the new, yea!
Easy Peasy! Thanks for stopping by.

Party time Woody

If any of you have seen the movie Toy Story you get the title of this post, if you haven't you need to see it. Fun kids movie.  :-)  I am running very low on birthday cards and I am trying to restock those cards.
This is Party Time today that is cheerful and fun. How about this music colorful designer paper for the back ground, isn't it perfect! Its from a stack that I hardly used and I am trying to go through. This stripped paper in the pack matched just as well so a rainbow cake it is.

For those that don't have the stamp set but like the cake, check out the digi version on Layered Cake. For the rest of the card is pretty simple with a pink panel pierced along the bottom and my sentiment stamped to the right. A few added sequins and sparkles to finish it off. Voila!
Don't forget the Power and Spark challenge is still running and your chance to win some goodies!

Birthday girl

Good morning! I dusted off a few Greeting Farm stamps lately and this one is another that I can't find a link to. I think she was in the set called Miss Anya Bags but I can be wrong. Either way the girls in this one are too cute.

Simple card today, a heart die cut border down the side of the designer paper. I colored and cut out Anya and popped her up on dimensionals. Added a die cut heart with a brad center and a few tiny hearts to her bag. Sequins and sparkle to finish it off. Voila! Hope you have a wonderful day.

Scrappy Valentine Henry

Happy Valentines Day! I know I said Friday it was my last Valentines day card, but I had one more to make. :-)  This adorable guy is Henry from an old Whiff Of Joy kit that is retired. Had a few left over scraps from other cards that I thought I would use for the card.

My designer paper was a left over cut out that was a perfect frame for an image.  I had these left over kraft frames that I thought would be fun tilted around him. Henry is stamped and colored with various Copic markers. His scarf bow has sparkles added for fun. A few sparkly enamel dots for the flag at the top and a button with some twine at the bottom. Voila! Have a wonderful day!

Birthday Boy Wish

Happy Birthday Colin! This is for my nephew who is turning 3 here in a few weeks. Oh  my word the time has flown by! This is rather colorful and sparkly I am sure he will love the bright colors. My mouse is from a retired Whiff Of Joy collection that is no longer available. He is one of my favorite mouses still.

He is stamped on white cardstock and colored with various Copic markers. The balloon dies are from ODBD called Balloons and Streamers. They each have added sparkle to them as do the ones in the image. A number 3 die cut and added to a die cut banner for the top corner. Some faux stitching around the edge and a brad to tie it off. Voila! Have a great day!

Now, Today and tomorrow

Welcome to another fun filled Power Poppy Friday. The latest Power and Spark challenge Say yes to no lines challenge is still going on. Don't miss and your chance to win free goodies! Be sure to check out the PP Blog for all the details and linking up your creation.

The last of my Valentine cards for the year. This one is for my sweet hubby. This shiny heart designer paper had a sentiment in the  middle but I liked the hearts. So I covered it with my die cut squares in two layers. Leaving the hearts around the edge just as I wanted. My roses are from My English Rose that I colored with Copic markers then trimmed very carefully around. Had to use the fine tipped knife to get between the stems but I like the look.
Popped them up on dimensionals in the corner from my sentiment. The sentiment is from Good Thinking. Love Notes. Added some Suduko gel pen to the words and underlined always. Finished it off with a few sequins and some sparkle. Voila!

Dude Valentine take two

Being that I have twins you should know that this was coming. ha ha  This is valentine dude two using the same retired set My Guy Ian. Similar design as the one the other day using designer paper from the valentine pack at the local craft store.

Stamped him onto white cardstock and colored with various Copic markers. Cut him out as well to pop him up. Used a tag die cut in kraft cardstock and the base layer of pink die cut the notebook edge for fun. More scattered hearts and sparkle to finish him off. Voila!
When I dug around for this Greeting Farm stamp I came across all my Anya stamps that are in my collection. Oh what a joy to stamp those out again and get to playing with them. Those will be coming soon as I need to finish off a few more birthday cards then I can work with those more. Don't you love finding fun in your older stamps? Thanks for stopping by today.

Dude Valentine

Valentines day is just around the corner. My boys might be getting older however, they will still be my sweethearts and valentine cards will still be given every year. :-) It does get a little harder to find ones that aren't too "cutesie" for them but each year I tend to manage and they like them.

This is a set called My Guy Ian that might be retired as I am unable to find a link to it anywhere.  :-(  Sad as this is a perfect teen guy set, glad I have it now. He was stamped on white cardstock and colored with various Copic markers. I cut around him and added dimensionals to the back to pop him up. Die cut using an old die-light with the hearts down the edge using kraft cardstock. My designer paper is from the local craftstore with some faux stitching around the edge. A few die cut hearts with added sparkle. Voila! I adore how this turned out. Thanks for stopping in and have a great day.

Please be a Pansie...

Yea, it is! Hee hee  Welcome to the Digi's on the 5th with the new Pansies at Power Poppy! Oooohhhaaaahhhhh ... This happens to be my mom's favorite flower so I see a gift card set coming in the coming weeks. Maybe for a Mother's Day gift.  :-)  Anyways, be sure to check out the Power Poppy Blog as Marcy has some inspiration behind this new digi.

We had another fun snow storm blow in on Friday so I was able to play in the stamp room, and pray for spring to get here. My Pansies are colored with various Copic colors and then cut around so that I was able to pop it up on the card. I can see these petals being cut between and rolled up for a dimensional look too. Yep, that idea is already flowing and coming along quite nicely.  ;-)  Back to this card, a faux stitched border around my designer paper. More of the old paper being used gotta love it. My newest square pierced squares die from ODBD die cut in white and purple cardstock. A white flourished die cut and some sequins to finish it off. Voila!

No lines... no problem they say

Happy Friday and welcome to the February Power and Spark challenge brought to us by Cindy. This months challenge is No Line Coloring. GASP!!! This look is fantastic... when others do it.  This is a technique that I have wanted to try and now it has forced me to actually do it. As they say, be careful what you wish for. Check out the Power Poppy Blog for linking your creations.

When Cindy said this was her challenge I was totally excited as I have been meaning to give this a try. In preparing for this I took a few hours (yes hours) and sat and watched several You tube videos, blog posts and read up on how they accomplished this. Well the only thing I want to say now is I tried and I am done with it. Ggrrrr... Being that I am a rule follower and there is several step by step instructions out there I thought no problem I can do this. Think again! This was my 7th attempt and finally thought I will just call it good. No it doesn't look like no line coloring, and yes I am aware that I should not give up. But for now that is going to be a back burner technique to try again so that I don't throw in the towel on it completely. Now that my complaining is done... ha ha  For my card.

This is Orchids Rock that was stamped in the lightest mauve color I have. I even stamped it off onto scrap paper first, then onto my cardstock for the faintest hint of the image like several instructions told me to do. Used several of the same colors in one video and continued to color, and color and over color more. Probably too much coloring and not enough blending now. Die cut with a few stitched dies and designer paper on the base. My sentiment stamped and cut with a oval punch. A few soft pastel candi dots for the corner. Now do I like how this turned out? Debatable as its okay, but not quite what you see with others and their no line coloring. Again something that will need lots of work but will wait until I forget my frustration.  :-)

Cupid for February

Good morning. This month calendar page has the adorable Cupid Henry from Whiff Of Joy. This is retired yet still one of my favorite mouses in my collection. Very simple again as I am mailing this to her with little embellishments. The 14th I did trace a red hard and color in and added a red strip across the bottom. I think I will do that every month now as I do like it. A little bit of sparkle and Voila! Have a wonderful day.

Home for the Holidays

Today is the first of the month and that means the Dirty Dozen Christmas challenge is up and ready for you to play along. This months theme is Home. Where do you call home for the holidays? Create a card using a house, church, door front or porch. Something to represent home. Be sure to link up your creations on the forum HERE

Okay home is relative to your size, right? These darling little house mouse are all snuggled at home with this Night Light stamp. This is retired I believe so I have no link to the stamp. They are stamped on white cardstock and colored with various Copic markers. The image panel is die cut using lil inkers dies and a few designer papers for the base. Voila! Hope you can play along with us this month! Have a great day.
