Finally was able to sit down and color the new Luminous Bouquet digi that came out recently. Oh what a fun image to color. This is printed on the larger side for a 5x5 size card. Very simple design with some textured dots for the base and piercing along the bottom. Added some designer paper to bring out the cloves and leaves and a strip of orange for the blooms. My sentiment in the corner and voila!

Old time Hollyhocks

Happy Wednesday! The new Hues to Use colors are posted up on the Power Poppy blog so I dug out the Copics and started to color.

I think the yellow stood out to me more than anything which is very strange. This is Old Time Hollyhocks that I colored today. Added a pierced border around the flower panel and the base panel. Die cut some scrap paper that matched the yellow using a Spellbinders die and added some sequins. Voila! Easy peasy!

We announced last week that YOU could not only play with these colors and have fun, BUT it is your chance to be our guest designer next month. That's right all the details are on the PP Blog Hues to Use challenge found HERE. For simply coloring and having fun you have a chance at being our guest designer. So go check it out! Hope you have a wonderful day!

Pink Pansies anyone?

~~Happy Friday~~
Lot's going on at Power Poppy. Did you see the new Hues to Use challenge and the excitement? You didn't? Well be sure to check out this post HERE and see if you will be the next Guest Designer. GASP! That's right, check out the Hues to Use, play along and see if its YOU! Not to mention we still have our June Bug challenge going on and your chance to win some Power Poppy bucks! Now for my card....

These Pansies were sitting on the desk from a few weeks back and looked perfect to color for today. Their are some really pretty pink versions of this flower in real life down the road from my MIL house so I went with pink today. Found some pink designer paper in my scrap bin to match and layered it onto the base of the card. The pansies panel has some piercing down the edge that I matched to the edge on the base and the sentiment tag. A few scattered brads and some sparkle. Voila!

Powerpoppy huestouse june20

Move the Soul was the first thing that came to mind with these colors. Some diamond textured embossing for the top panel and some designer paper above the sentiment. Die cut the bike and layered onto a scallop circle. A few pearls to finish it off.

It is hard to see but at the bottom of the card is piercing along the edge. It really does look cool in person. Voila! Can't wait to see what you create with the Hues to Use! Check it out and hope you are inspired to play with some colors this week. Have a wonderful day.

Stripes and Polka dots

A fun birthday card today using Avery is Thankful. There is three digi's in this purchase that are just adorable. One more to go and I will have used them all, yea! The papers I used are older and I don't have the packaging for them anymore as they were in the bin. They seemed like fresh colors to go with her so I just went with it.

After she was colored I layered some pink paper for the base. Then added some chunky sparkles to the cupcake wrapper. The jury is still out on this chunky sparkles that I bought... Hhhmmm... Not sure I like the chunk so much. ha ha! Anyways, added a button with some twine wrapped into a bow along with a banner like panel. Voila! Hope you have a wonderful day.

St. Louis Garden Party

Good morning! I am excited to finally sit down and put some pictures of our St. Louis Garden party up for you to see. Some of the other Bloomies posted pictures as well, check out their blogs to see different pictures and hear their thoughts on our little party. I will state now that I am not a good photographer, I take pictures like I dress which is plain and simple. ha ha!! We did so many things in a short amount of time that I crashed when I got home. The first night we all were welcomed into Marcy's home for dinner and chatting.

Marcy's darling daughters created this little banner to welcome us. Isn't it just the cutest banner? The girls are adorable to boot, so glad we got to meet the family.

Here is a small glimpse into her little backyard oasis she has going on. In every directions is blooms, trees and flowers budding all over the place. She has a few little chairs outside for you to sit and just enjoy. I will say I saw my first ever Lightning bug back here. So very COOL!

Here is where the shipping and personal wrapping your orders takes place. No Christine is not helping but I thought it was cute she was in this picture.  :-)  If you can zoom in you can see all the tape and ribbon Marcy uses to wrap each order. Isn't she just the sweetest?!?!

Speaking of the sweetest here she is... Now she will probably kill me for putting this picture up but I think she just looks adorable here. She made all of us a yummy dinner and let us into her life, being in her home. It was truly a wonderful and memorable time. Little miss Tinkerbell as I am now calling her.  :-)

A fun surprise was the chance to meet Mary Englebreit and visit her studio. GASP!!! Oh my word what an awesome experience that was and to just visit with Mary. A joy to say the least!

And here we all are with Mary. I am back on the right so we could all fit in the picture. Can you see we are all just a little bit awe struck being there. ACK!!!! Pinch me!

Marcy's son Finn took this picture of us all at her mom and dad's house. What a treasured time that was for us to see where Marcy's talent comes from. I would dare say another garden oasis we were able to share in and tour. Her dad Steve was so gracious and sweet to walk us around the entire house talking about the plants and flowers. What they had done over the years. You can truly see he loved Susan and enjoyed being outside in the dirt and plants with her. A memory for the heart this man.

We went to a St. Louis Cardinals baseball game and I took this selfie (not good at those either) of the two new bloomies I finally got to meet. The sweet Miss Katie Sims from Georgia and Ally Copeland all the way from Canada.... Oh my, girls it was such fun to meet you in person and get to know you both better! I can't wait until next time.

We visited the botanical garden and saw lots of beautiful color and flowers. My favorites of course are the Lily's. These pink and white ones were amazing!

Check out St. Louis newest gang members.... Julie and Cindy sure had fun at the game. There was so many pictures I took but this one sure makes me giggle!

Another one from the game of me and Christine. Oh I just heart this girl! She traveled all the way from Canada for this trip also!

More flowers at another nursery we went to. I mean come on.... we are bloomies what else are we going to surround ourselves with but fresh blooms.  :-)  This place was rather beautiful as well.

I will leave you with this last picture of Tosha, Katie and myself with our hearts. I sent this picture to our sweet friends Pat and Cheryl letting them know how much we love them.  We didn't plan to match our clothes for the day, it just worked out that way. How cute is that! This trip just affirmed once again that this bunch of ladies are truly treasured gifts and I am so thankful to call them my friends! Thanks for sharing in some of the fun we had. Hope you all have a wonderful day!

Celebrate birthday style

Happy Friday! Hope you have a fun filled weekend planned. We will be at a few basketball games and a BBQ or two. Summer is here and we are excited, woot woot! I need a birthday card so I grabbed Party Time to play with. This is very girlie and fresh feeling, so I know it will be perfect.

Very easy design as I stamped the boxes on white cardstock and colored with various Copic markers. A simple pierced border around the edge. The banner was in the corner however I thought to bring it in towards the package a few tiny flowers would be cute on the banner. These tiny flowers are from stamp set that are cut around and popped up. Stamped one sentiment inside the banner part and the other below by the presents. A designer paper layer which was my inspiration for the colors layered onto white cardstock and added to the base. Voila!

You're somethin else

Good morning! I am still trying to get back into the swing of things from St. Louis. What fun we had and I will have pictures to share later I promise. For now I have a creation using the Hues to Use challenge posted on the Power Poppy Blog.

You can see the colors below to work with for the challenge. The Climbing Clematis was saying pick me, pick me so I did.  ;-)  They are colored with various Copic markers and then die cut with a stitched rectangle. I actually used the wrong size, but turned out perfect as my sentiment fit right onto the panel instead of a tag. Some designer paper in the darker green for the background was perfect. Stitched the base layer to match the image panel. Added a little bit of sparkle to the leaves and some enamel dots to finish it off. Voila!

These colors are wonderful aren't they? I think my purple is a little lighter than on the picture and not as vibrant. However I still enjoy the way this turned out. I hope you get a chance to color and play along this week.

Simply fun and sweet

Happy Friday! I have to admit the "fun" part of my title is not necessarily about my card. The fun part is that, right now the Bloom Brigade (minus our sweet Aussie friend) are currently enjoying the likes of St. Louis and the pleasure of miss Marcy Poppins. Squeel!!! We are currently gathering for a "garden party" as we dubbed it for some fun, rejuvenation, inspiration and just pure joy of being together again. Some of us are meeting for the first time and a few of us for another gathering. I am sure that when we get home their will be lots of pictures to share with you all so be on the look out. In the meantime my post for today....

This single bloom is one of my favorites from Simply Camilla's. I stamped it on white cardstock and colored with various Copic markers. A simple Spellbinders circle die cut with a layer of scalloped underneath. My designer paper was the color palette and added some swiss dots to the solid cardstock. I added a scalloped edge to the bottom edge before I adhered to the base. Finished it off with my sentiment in the corner a few sequins and some sparkle. Voila!

Not quite juicy yet

Good morning! My creation today is for the Hues to Use challenge over at Power Poppy. The new hues was posted yesterday did you see? Check it out and play along.

The first thing I thought when I saw the colors was these Juicy Strawberries. Now they are not quite ripe yet to be super juicy but when they are they would be good.  ;-)    After my strawberries were printed out (this is a digi image) I colored them with Copic markers and pierced an edge around the border. Two different designer papers were used for the base layers. Before I added the red piece I distressed the edges of the white layer. I haven't distressed anything in a long time and thought oh how fun and what a mess. ha!  I do like how it looks as the end result.

Added my green designer paper to the base and popped up the image panel using dimensionals.
A simple ribbon bow for the corner and two enamel dots for the other corner. Voila!  Oh there is a tiny bit of sparkle on the leaves but not much. Can't not have the sparkle. Left a sentiment off and I have a few more cards that need to be blank so I can add sentiments as time permits for events. Sometimes it is just good to have blank ones on hand. I hope you can play along with the Hues to Use challenge this week.

If you didn't hear already but Passionate Paper Creations and Friends are teaming up with week with some fun on the PPCF Facebook page. Be sure to check it out and see what Power Poppy is up to.  ;-) Have a great day!

Snoozing dad's day

Morning! I was rather last minute with my Mother's Day cards as time was short. So I figured I better get on my Father's day cards as soon as I have free time. This weekend I was able to get in a few hours of creative time and it felt so GOOD! I printed up the new to me All About Dad digi from Sassy Cheryl's and created.

This is perfect for my FIL as he is retired and does nap quite a bit. hee hee  Very simple with just some piercing around the base embossed layer and the image panel. Figured some designer paper behind the base panel rather than solid cardstock and what a fun look even if you only see alittle bit of the designer paper. My sentiment is from Man of the Hour stamp set that I fish tailed the end and added a brad and Voila! Have a fabulous day!
