Holly Tidings

Happy Wednesday! In just a few short hours it will be the first of February and that means the new Dirty Dozen Christmas challenge will be posted up on SCS. This months challenge is fun, hope you can join us and get ahead start on the cards for the year.

My creation is using Holly Golightly which fits perfect for the month. Not to mention all my holly from Holly Jolly designer paper that is the base of the card. hee hee  I have never done a fold like this I think its called a double step card? Correct me if I am wrong. This sure was fun.
Now is how do I fold it to put in the envelope come December? ha ha  Guess I have sometime to figure that out. Anyways, I stamped the image and die cut using standard circle and scallop circle from Spellbinders dies. Added some jewels and sparkles to finish it all off. Voila! Hope you have a wonderful day.

Sunflower thanks

Good morning. It is already the end of January and I really think that somebody needs to slow time down a bit. Really... already a month into 2018. My my my... Anyways you didn't come to hear about how time is going by too fast, so how about a card?  :-)

This sunflower is called Sunflower Stem from Heartfelt Creations. I wonder if they discontinued this set as it is not on the site anymore? This was fairly new within the last year or so I thought. Guess that is what I get for not using my stamps more.
For the base it is a simple wood grain designer paper layered onto some chocolate card stock with piercing around the edge. Don't look too close to the piercing or you will see where I got off track a little, but its okay... just keeping it real. HA!  A scallop edge using ODBD Beautiful borders and some swiss dots textures to the chocolate panel. Colored my sunflowers with Copic makers and rounded the corners on the left. Die cut a Thanks sentiment and added sparkles to that and the sunflower. A button and twine bow to finish it off. Voila!
 Thanks for stopping by today.

Rose of gray

Happy Friday! Basketball season has been super busy as of late with four to three games a week. Stamping has been a challenge not to mention creativity. Marcy's Instant Garden digi that came out on the 15th called Rose All Day sure looked enticing to color. My thought on the colors didn't come out white like I planned, however I do like the end result.

The original thought was to color this is shades of grey and soft pink. So I started with coloring it all grey and adding some darker areas of grey. Then I started with the pink on the rose and changed my mind to subtle yellows, purples and green. My thought was like in the morning when the sun comes up everything is dark but more things start to turn to color as you see light. If that makes any sense to anyone else. ha ha
I die cut a portion of the image using and oval and matching decorative oval from Spellinders. Just a hint of sparkle was added to the lavender flowers to tie into the purple ribbon and bow. Some chicken wire texture for the background and some grey pearls to finish it off. Voila!

Surprise birthday

Morning! Another birthday card for you today using one from Sassy Cheryl's called Let's Party. I am not sure this one is going to be around much longer, so better get it while you can. She is retiring some of her older ones to bring in new. She was too cute to pass up.

The designer paper was my color choice today. Vibrant and fun just what a birthday card should be. The balloon is a ODBD Balloon and Streamers die cut that I added some sparkle too along with the confetti and her hat. Rounded the top right corner panel and sentiment panel to tie them together and a button twine combo for the sentiment panel. Voila!

Birthday Mate

Good morning! It has been awhile since I inked this guy up. This set is not longer available it was from Whiff Of Joy secret kit a few years ago and so much fun. He was perfect for my nephew's birthday coming up.

Henry is stamped onto white card stock and colored with various Copic markers. Layered then onto some red to match the die cut border behind him. A few arrow die cuts that are also retired from WOJ  and matching piercing for the border. Then topped it with a few Candi dots and sparkles here and there to finish. Voila!

Grab a map Friday

Good  morning! Another Friday with our Power and Spark Grab a Map challenge for the month. I am enjoying the different designs and thought I would use Peony Muse for my card today.

I stamped and colored my Peony onto white card stock, then cut around the flower to pop onto the base circle. I would have used the matching die, but I masked the leaves so I couldn't do that this time. Pierced and edge around the card base and then just a few enamel dots and some sparkle to finish it off. Voila!

Candy Crush

Did you see Power Poppy posted the new challenge of the week? This week's Hues to Use colors are:

Not really candy crush like the game but the candy crush inspired colors today. I really couldn't pass up the hues this week if you couldn't of guessed. ha ha  I used Short Stacks for my creation today. Colored the image with various Copic markers and then die cut with a Spellbinders oval shape. I colored around the edge of the oval before I adhered it to the base.

Wrapped a ribbon around the top panel and then a few sequins for accents. Easy Peasy today! Have a wonderful day.

Sending puppy love

Is this guy just not totally cute? He is called Do It Up Right from Sassy Cheryl's and perfect for my sister's card today. She got a new puppy a few weeks ago and needless to say he is learning what he can do and not do still. I think she is loving the new fur baby but overly tired as well. She will get a kick out of this though.

Not much to explain other than he is colored with Copic markers and then layered onto matching brown card stock. I pierced around the edges of the designer paper before layering it onto the card back. Added an old CTMH hardware piece to the edge and a paw print to the image panel. Easy Peasy today! Have a wonderful day.

Thanks so very much

Happy Friday! I am in the mist of more basketball games and in need of some stamping time.  :-) Not sure that is going to happen past this morning. ha ha  Our Power and Spark challenge for the month is Grab a Map from the Pagemaps site.

Some wonderful sketches to choose from and I went with another one for my card today.

Talk about springy and fresh, I do like how this turned out. My flower is from Vibrant Thanks stamp set that is on white card stock. My flowers are colored with Copic markers. My designer paper is from Authentique Latest and Greatest paper pack that I layered onto white and then the banana base. My heart die cut is using a retired WOJ die light. Some faux stitching to match the sketch I choose and a few enamel dots to the bottom.
These tiny butterflies are the remains of a die cut I have and make for perfect little accents. Some sparkle to the flower and Voila! Still trying to figure out this camera and having fun with it. This one isn't too bad I don't think? Any tips or things you find helpful would be wonderful news, so please share away.  :-)

Valentine Take Out

These little take out boxes are so cute. When I bought them a few years ago I don't think it dawned on me how many I bought.  :-)  Time to get those things decorated and ready for Valentines day!

A very simple design using some designer paper for the base of the box front. I die cut a ODBD Die shape for the sentiment and sponged pink before the die was removed. Die cut a few hearts and popped those up on dimensionals to the sentiment panel. Added silver cord below the hearts tied into a bow. Some sparkle and jewels to finish off the front. Ribbon and cord to the handle and chocolates inside, Voila!

House Mouse Tote

Good morning. How about a little House Mouse for you today? These little guys are always a joy to pull out and color with. This is a cute little tote that I used from the ODBD Die Card Daddy-Tote. My handles on the bag are adjustable and I covered the brad I used to make that possible with buttons for the front.

These guys are colored with Copic markers and simply added to a pink layer of card stock. The arrow behind the heart is a tiny die from WOJ that is now closed. Sparkle was added to the heart and the stem/leaves of the image and some jewels. Voila! Now I have one gift tote done for Valentines day. Getting an early start this year.  :-)
For Christmas I received a new Nikon 3400 Camera and a few lens. SWEET!!! However getting the hang of how this works is a little tricky. I have watched so many videos and tutorials that I think I am more confused than before. ha ha  Please have patience with me and my photo's as I am trying out different places and lighting to get the hang of this new camera.  :-)  Thanks for stopping by.

Love meets Page Maps with Power Poppy

Well hello... Did you see the latest Page Maps card sketches? Becky has some fun card sketches for you to play with and Power Poppy joined in on the fun. Julie thought it would be fun to have our Power and Spark challenge this month using one of the sketches. So pick one of the new sketches and give it a whirl.

My sketch is using this one:

My first thought was using My English Rose and getting ahead start on some Valentine cards. This rose is actually part of the image with the square in the set. However I simple colored what I needed and then delicately cut around the image to pop on the card base. My designer paper has a scallop edge using ODBD Beautiful borders die. Some scrap paper was for the fish tale tags in the corner with some faux stitching to match the sketch. Then some sparkle and jewels to finish it off. Voila!

Check out the Power Poppy Blog for all the girls that played along with a sketch today! Don't forget to pick your sketch and enter it into the Power and Spark challenge this month.

Bright new day

Good morning! Did you see the new Hues to Use challenge over on the Power Poppy Blog today? Here is a snippet of the colors for you. Be sure to add your creation to the Hues to Use link and you could be our new Guest Designer. Woot Woot!

These colors had a soft and spring like color to me and I knew that Lilac Time was the perfect set for my creation. If you don't have Lilac Time no worries, the digi version French Lilac would work just the same. For details on this creation head on over to the Power Poppy Blog and see what I was up to in creating this springy delight.  :-)  Have a great day!

Christmas Challenge 2018

Good morning! Did you have a wonderful Christmas? How about your New Years? Our house was full of activity of course along with the weather outside. We had a bunch of snow and ice which always make things interesting. Needless to say I REALLY enjoyed the last two weeks with the boys and hubby. AaaaaaHhhhhhh! The first day of 2018 and that means...
We usher in the new Dirty Dozen Christmas Challenge over on SCS. We have a new year and a new theme of challenges all ready for you to get an early start on your cards for the year. I hope you check it out and play along.

I will tell you that this photo is not straight but I think it is more because of the background (dining room chair) than anything. The auto straight didn't even move it much, oh well.  :-)  This Candy Cane Classic fit this months challenge perfectly! They are colored with Copic markers and then die cut using Spellbinders circles and scallop circles. I think this type of fold is called a tent fold, but not completely sure. It does fit the standard envelope, it is a fun look I think. My designer paper for the base layer and some piercing around the edge. The scallop circle has matching piercing to tie in the edge. My sentiment tied off a button and silver cord and some jewels to finish it off. Voila!

Hopefully you are all ready to get those cards done for 2018! Happy Stamping!
